BAC 1 – 5 Bristol University2
Back home after a month of travelling up and down the M5, BAC welcomed Bristol Uni 2 to their home pitch. The warm up was much needed, as although dry this week, it was bitterly cold.
It was a hard fought first half with chances at both ends. In between telling Ellie to stop saying ‘Sorry’ all the time, Bex guarded her goal well, even thwarting a 1 on 1 after a Uni breakaway. The very end of the half saw Cheryl given a green card for one to many over enthusiastic tackles. Goalless at half time.
The second half started with a slight positional readjustment due to only having 10 men but soon after the start the ball was worked up the BAC right to WP. A neat ball into the D found Tinny, who undeterred by the oncoming keeper managed to slide the ball towards the goal before being taken out. Sledger made sure but the ball was already over the line. 1 – 0 BAC. We won’t talk too much about the rest of the game! Despite Lisa B’s valiant diving effort (caught on film by Maz), BAC could score no more whereas the Uni put 5 over the line. Final score 1 – 5.
After the match it was back to the clubhouse to see if Maz could live up to Bex high standards of teas – and she could – pulled pork rolls with apple sauce, crackling and coleslaw followed by a cake selection. Additional excitement ensued when Lisa turned up with Ronnie so we could all have some cuddles.
