Westberries2 0 – BAC 5 (18/10/14)
Match report written by: Cheryl Versini-Selleck
After disappointment of last week we all turned up for another tricky game!
Even ruby was excited to be here as she had her own tent and picnic which we were all tempted to get into and join her!!
Before the proper warm up started though there was a talk from Captain Kingers and Vice Tinny, which was very good and got the team all together and positive about what we can achieve if we play for each other, there were also a couple of position changes to the team but no change in personnel although we were missing Emma who would join us ASAP from work.
The game started fast and BAC were up for this despite only having 10 but fear not as we still created chances and when BAC did have 11 it took no time at all to get the 1st goal. Great run from Emma who passed to Tinny who shot first time and scored. Great early goal 0-1.
After this we regrouped not to be undone like last week. We piled on the pressure again and forced a few short corners coming close several times then came the 2nd goal after good work from Tinny and Lisa, the keeper saved it but Sally-Anne was on hand to put in the rebound 0-2. BAC regrouped again and then not long after we forced yet another short and Sally-Anne was at it again 0-3.
BAC were on fire, and it had suddenly gone quiet on the side line. Yet again we regrouped determined not to concede.
Westberries had a few chances but nothing that the defence couldn’t handle in fact after a great clearance from Becky, Sledger picked up the ball and raced towards goal setting up Tinny for her 2nd and BAC’s 4th….not even half time and 4-0 up!!
Half time fluids were taken and a well earned rest after an awesome 1st half but it wasn’t over yet and we were all aware of that !!
Westberries came at us which was expected at the start of 2nd half changing their formation which unsettled us but yet again the team stood firm and defensive short corners were going well and Becky made some great saves!!
After a bit of blip BAC got back to their game and created more chances, Tinny and Sal both going close but keeper made some good saves. Finally though after good work again from the midfield Tinny got the ball through the defence and found Lisa who was there to tap in for 0-5.
Westberries did create a few more chances but yet again defence were not going to concede today.
Final score 0-5 and a great result after last week and well deserved win, excellent team effort !!
Player of match – Sally-Anne
2nd – Sledger
3rd – Becky & Bish
Teas were ok, Maz was in fits of laughter at something but you’ll have to ask her about that, Tinny showed us where she had abandoned her mini due to parking issues at Coombe dingle this week!
More of the same next week please!
