BAC 2 – 6 Leominster (11/10/14)
Match Report Written by: Lisa ‘Kingers’ King
BAC’s third game of the season saw another home game, this time against our almost Welsh neighbours, Leominster!
Leominster started the game strongly, despite their early start and BAC were the ones caught napping allowing Leominster to snatch an early lead in the first few minutes of the game 0 -1.
However, with the wakeup call of the sound of back board being rattled, BAC managed to sort themselves out and after a spell of decent pressure, a relentless Sally (once again!) impressively dived in front of goal to ensure BAC got back on level terms. 1-1.
BAC now a bit more settled, started to move the ball about nicely but struggled to get the ball past the Leominster defence which held strong until half time.
After a de-brief from coach Doug, BAC started the second half much brighter and some good, early pressure and quick, passing play saw Liz cleverly sneak the ball in at the near post to put BAC 2-1 up…hurrah!
Unfortunately, BAC’s lead was only short-lived….a sharp attack from Leominster straight from the whistle saw them fight back and level the game at 2-2.
After this BAC failed to get back into the game and Leominster went on to score a few more goals….(think it was something like 6?!) but had it not been for the heroics of Becky ‘the bullet’ Lewis with some awesome saves and some determined tackling by Liz Gaze, it would probably have been more.
Man of the match this week went to Liz.
2nd Sally
3rd Becky, WP, Emma & Sledger
Despite the disappointment of this week’s game, BAC as always will dust themselves down and come back next week in true BAC fighting spirit ….in the words of the glorious Bristol City…..COYR!!!
