The game was due to start at 7pm, so it’s 6:45pm, BAC, all 12 of us warmed up and ready? CHECK. Two trainee umpires? CHECK. Two Umpire trainers? CHECK. Twit 1 thumbs ready for tweeting? CHECK. Opposition?? TUMBLEWEED!!

After an hour of deliberation, a lot of gossip (ask Lor about her ‘eye opener’ of a weekend), hand stands, hair plating, origami, and a 15 min 6 aside inter club match Twit 1 reports that Firebrands are on their way as they think it’s a 8.15pm start!

SO they turn up in dribs and drabs, adamant that they are right and slowly get ready, much to the disgust of BAC who were ready for their tea and getting a bit tetchy. Eventually it got under way and BAC, due to an almighty warm up, straight away put Firebrands under pressure, fighting hard and giving our very own trainee umpire Chris a sweaty work out!! Then with some great passing play from Ceri, Tinny & Lor, the most amazing thing happened…

BISH SCORED, this hasn’t happened since the late 1800’s!!!!!

We continued to fight it out and keep the pressure up and managed keep it at 1-0 despite Firebrands being awarded more than their fair share of short corners – Greedy.
The second half got under way and from nowhere Firebrands scored a goal, a rattled BAC fought back and the ball was back in the opposition D, where Tinny crossed the ball to Lor for a, and I quote, ‘sitter on the post’, unfortunately Lor had an attack of the Narcolepsy again and was propped up sleeping on the post!!!

Some hard work in defence saw the ball back up to Tinny had another go, running up the pitch alone, the keeper went down, open goal and…and she misses!! This didn’t stop her, with a pass from Liz, Tinny slotted in BAC’s goal number 2. Cheryl celebrated in a very odd way, she did a mini pirouette got her feet tangled and had to take herself off for a little sit down, this confused Becky! Firebrands upped the pressure on a very tired BAC, I mean we had been there for 3 hours at this point and needed our tea, but we were having none of it and in the final minute with a pass from someone (sorry I was tired) Tinny slams home goal number 3! BOOM a BAC win!!!

A gift box of watches has been sent to Firebrands, who issued this apology on Twitter last night. @BACLHC huge apologies for tonight, despite our lists saying 8.15, just discovered it’s wrong. Thanks for sticking around and playing
